La Peschiera di Pacino IGT | Raìna

€17.00

Peschiera del Pacino is a fresh, easy-drinking wine, excellent to accompany fish-based meals, fresh cheeses, risottos and elaborate salads. As Francesco Mariani says: "it is not a wine to be tasted, but a wine to drink, in good company, when you feel like it". And that's exactly how we feel it, a wine to drink without worries and expectations. Unfiltered. Unclarified.

  • Cantina Raìna was founded in 2002, by Francesco Mariani, vine grower in the region of Montefalco, Umbria. He makes wine from biodynamic grapes together with his friend and assistant Andrea Mattioli.

“Raina" was the nickname of the previous owner of the field where they planted the first of our Sagrantino vines.

This name was chosen to preserve the link between the land and its history.

  • The 10 hectares of vineyards, planted between 2002 and 2008, lie between 220 and 300 meters a.s.l. The soil is of medium consistency and rich in texture, with mainly southeasterly exposure.

They use spurred cordon to train the red grapes and Guyot for the white grapes, with planting density at about 5,700 vines per hectare.

The land allows a huge variety of vines to flourish: Sagrantino, Sangiovese ,Syrah, Grechetto, Montepulciano, Merlot and Trebbiano Spoletino.
